Our Pets are not our property...they are part of our family, companions, and guardians .
Sometimes they provide sight for those who can not see, and ears for those who can not hear. To say that they should be compared to a table and chair makes a mockery of millions of American citizens who yearly hand over vast amounts of hard earned money to care for these so called" pieces of property."
Here's to a new and evolved chapter in a system of justice that is meant to protect the innocent and those who can not speak for themselves.
A toast to the decent people behind this conference and for all those who know in their hearts that our pets are a part of our families and are willing to back that in a court of law.

Well its been 4 solid weeks of primaxin injections , three times daily and at a cost of $1,850.00

The good news.....is that the would looks very good and I've got my fingers crossed that we are almost over the hump.

He is also taking an assortment of holistic remedies to boost his immune system and kill that enterobacter bacteria.

I tried to get a news station here in Ct to help us but they said.

"They didn't have the resources for a story like this"

I'm really disappointed and thought for sure a therapy dog like Beebs would get some help.

What is worth putting on the news if not a friend in need who has made this state a better place to live. I guess I just don't understand what CT news is all about then.

We are saying our prayers and keeping our fingers crossed.

2 weeks after another surgery to repair TPLO

Well,
we saw the surgeons in norwalk yesterday. They were very impressed with Mr Beebs recovery so far. The wound looks good and I've stopped the clavamox for the e coli in his leg. But...I still must inject him 3 times a day with the human drug primaxin in order to destroy the enterobacter infection he has eating his leg bone away.The plate is gone..it fell apart in there and 2 screws broke off in his leg.I wrote to slocum who makes the plates...so far no response. Big shock there huh.
I hope the bacteria does not hide in those screws or he will be on the drug the rest of his life.
The drug is $900.00 per 2 week supply.
I would never do another TPLO. In fact after my 2 boxers are gone I might forgo all pets for a while...it has been a draining heart breaking year. There is no turning back...just finding the goodnesss in having his company every day.

Please don't let the infection turn to cancer

Mr Beebs has undergone yet another surgery to try and save his leg from the TPLO surgery of june 06.
As the doctor at VREK in Norwalk CT put it..."I had to remove alot of diseased tissue and bone...the bone was still soft in parts and not heaed.
The pathology lab in Colorado university is processing the cultures .This last surgery was on Feb 26 2007.
We are looking at a year of anti biotics and physical therapy to get the leg working again. If the bone thats been eaten away is a sarcoma now amputation is the only alternative .
